Major Renovation Completed at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan Beach Resort

Major Renovation Completed at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan Beach Resort

Opened in 1987 as the very first Pueblo Bonito property, the celebrated Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán Beach Resort recently completed an extensive $27 million renovation project intended to boost the landmark hotel’s status as an international travel and hospitality industry leader. Located along the famous Zona Dorada, or Golden Zone of Mazatlan, the original Pueblo Bonito (“Beautiful Village”) hotel set the bar for luxury travel in Mazatlan more than 30 years ago, effectively launching one of the most successful resort brands in Mexico. The transformation pays homage to the hotel’s Old World charm while elevating all elements of the property, including totally upgraded guest suites, restaurants, lobbies, and pools. The remodeling and renovation project has also greatly enhanced the building’s exterior and amenities while retaining the unique appeal of a hotel that been a favorite of guests for decades. “We are very excited to have undertaken this major renovation, which has revitalized, revamped, and reinvented the pioneer resort of the Pueblo Bonito collection,” said Alberto Coppel, CEO, Pueblo Bonito Golf and Spa Resorts. “Our beloved Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan has retained its charm, while attaining a new level of luxury, enhancing the already unique experience our guests have always treasured.” Coppel added, “The early success of this property—the best resort in town from the day it opened—allowed Pueblo Bonito Resorts to expand to Los Cabos. This renovation is our way of giving back to Mazatlan a little bit of what Mazatlan has given to us.” All accommodations, totaling 248 guest suites, were completely remodeled, with new artwork and fresh touches added throughout the property. A new restaurant was added, Pescados, a casually elegant space that serves fresh sashimi, maki, nigiri and sushi. The dining outpost doubles as a snack bar during the day. In addition, a new oceanfront bar was also installed, while Cilantro’s restaurant was totally reimagined. Las Palomas restaurant was also redesigned and expanded. This popular dining spot features new décor finishes and furniture. For business groups and small conventions, new meeting facilities capable of accommodating up to 300 attendees were built. The resort now offers beautiful, outdoor event space next to the swimming pool. From enhanced cleaning protocols to new contactless services, Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan has taken all of the necessary steps to ensure the safety of guests and team members alike, through the company’s own CARE Pledge. CARE translates to Conscientious Service, Advanced Standards, Rigorous Sanitation, Elevated Hygiene. On-site testing services are available at all Pueblo Bonito Resort properties so that guests can easily comply with CDC requirements that travelers get a viral test within three days of flying to the U.S. Testing services are included with all-inclusive packages for stays of three nights or longer.

(“Caesars” or the “Company”) shared exciting details today on its $400 million master plan investment in Atlantic City where it owns and operates three of the region’s preeminent casino destinations – Caesars, Harrah’s Resort and Tropicana Atlantic City. The plans include remodeled room towers; freshly appointed interior design elements; enhancements to the casinos’ gaming floors; new dining concepts with acclaimed restaurant partners; and many more exciting additions within the next three years. These developments will bolster the City’s position as a Las Vegas-style destination market with a focus on revitalizing the world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk. The first phase of the project, a $170 million renovation of guestroom and suites at Caesars and Harrah’s, will debut in Summer 2021. “Building on our rich, 40-year legacy in the market, we are excited to introduce the new Caesars Entertainment to Atlantic City through our $400 million investment and development plan,” said Anthony Carano, President and Chief Operating Officer of Caesars Entertainment. “These exciting plans over the next three years will revitalize Caesars’ brand of hospitality, and will continue to position Harrah’s, Tropicana, and Caesars Atlantic City as leading resorts in the market. We remain bullish on Atlantic City, and this commitment will further position us for long-term growth and success.” “My administration has teamed up with corporate, community and government partners in an effort to reestablish Atlantic City as a premier tourist destination in New Jersey,” said Governor Phil Murphy. “This $400 million investment in the city supports our focus on growing the economy, continuing to support Atlantic City, and creating jobs in our state, and I applaud Caesars Entertainment for leading the recovery effort.” “Caesars Entertainment is the country’s largest gaming company, and we are thrilled that Atlantic City is home to three of their casinos,” said Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. “This year marks a new era for the City, and we appreciate Caesars’ dedication to the market as the largest employer in Atlantic County. Their three-year reinvestment plan doubles down on this commitment, which will undoubtedly reinvigorate Atlantic City.” $170 million room remodel inspired by Atlantic City’s beach and bay: This summer, Caesars Entertainment will unveil $170 million in room enhancements designed by Interior Image Group at Caesars and Harrah’s Resort, beginning with approximately 600 guest rooms and suites in Caesars’ Centurion and Ocean Towers, as well as Harrah’s Atrium Tower. The towers will offer accommodations with spectacular views and fresh design elements in rooms ranging from 450 to 700 square feet per room. At Caesars, the designs will feature a modern Roman aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the local Atlantic City scenery, including the beach, ocean and famed Boardwalk. The guest rooms and suites will feature rich hues of blue and cream accent colors, contrasting white and gray tones, and contemporary furniture, including modern bathrooms with oversized showers, mirrors, and signature amenities. At Harrah’s Resort, design inspiration was drawn from the casino’s upscale, yet accessible brand of hospitality with rich elements that are fun, lively and vibrant playing off the resort’s sophisticated Marina District locale.

IHG’s InterContinental Brand Coming to Sorrento With Redevelopment Hotel Continental

IHG’s InterContinental Brand Coming to Sorrento With Redevelopment Hotel Continental

IHG Hotels & Resorts is thrilled to announce that its luxury InterContinental brand will come to Sorrento in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula as part of the redevelopment of the Hotel Continental. It follows the signing of a management agreement with the Consortium behind the iconic Hotel Continental redevelopment on the state’s famed coastal strip. Hotel Continental, or the ‘Conti’ as it is endearingly called by locals, will have a new, luxurious lease on life when the InterContinental Sorrento opens in November 2021, as the property poises itself to once again become a beacon of glamour and sophistication on the Mornington Peninsula. Following a sensitive, state-of-the-art restoration by the Trenerry Consortium, which is owned by Victor Smorgon Group, the Kanat Group and Trenerry Property, InterContinental Sorrento will occupy the accommodation component of the 145-year-old heritage-listed limestone building and will feature 106 beautifully appointed, spacious guestrooms, many of them with water views. A high-profile chef partnership will soon be announced for the hotel’s signature restaurant, with the property also home to five other dining and bar outlets. In addition, the hotel will feature a sprawling wellness centre incorporating a luxury bathhouse, an outdoor pool, gym and three function and event spaces, including the Conti’s original iconic grand ballroom and will be lovingly restored catering for corporate and social events. Abhijay Sandilya, IHG’s Vice President, Development – Australasia, Japan & Pacific, said: “We could not be more delighted to be adding this very special hotel to our InterContinental portfolio and we’re so pleased to be embarking on the restoration process with this great Consortium of partners. InterContinental hotels around the world, all have a fascinating, alluring story to tell and InterContinental Sorrento with its rich 145-year history is no exception; it perfectly complements our portfolio. We have been looking to grow outside of central Melbourne for some time, and to be expanding into regional Victoria with a property of this calibre and in such a prime tourism location, is incredibly exciting. “With regional tourism in places such as the Mornington Peninsula benefiting from pent-up traveller demand due to Covid-19, the hotel is in a sweet spot to capitalise on this influx of travellers, and with very few luxury hotel offerings in the area, InterContinental Sorrento will be a welcome addition to the region and a treasured addition to the IHG network.” Peter Edwards from Victor Smorgon Group, said: “After working closely with our consultant team, we couldn’t be more pleased to have IHG Hotels & Resorts on board. We are confident that bringing the world’s largest luxury hotel brand to a destination like Sorrento will attract attention from both domestic and international travellers to the region, and we are excited to see the Hotel Continental enter an exciting new era. “Collectively we have a passion and vision for the hotel to be completely revitalised and returned to its former glory as one of the country’s most loved hotels and we’re excited to be embarking on this project with the team at IHG.” Hotel Continental first opened in 1875 and was the brainchild of actor, philanthropist and businessman, George Coppin, who was regarded as the “Father of the Theatre” in Victoria. Coppin’s vision was to create a tourism and cultural heart for the Peninsula where Melburnians and tourists could enjoy a premium seaside resort only a few hours from the city. The hotel sparked an industry that included the steamboat ferry system, transporting travellers from all over the world into the heart of Sorrento, and to the hotel. When InterContinental Sorrento opens in time for summer 2021/22, the beachside glitz, glamour and sophistication of yesteryear will return and once again, the hotel will be one of the state’s most captivating and in-demand luxury hotels. InterContinental Sorrento will be the 10th InterContinental Hotel in Australasia and will join award-winning InterContinental Resort Hayman Island, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay, InterContinental Sydney, InterContinental Perth, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove, InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto, InterContinental Adelaide, InterContinental Wellington and InterContinental Fiji. The hotel will also complement IHG’s broader InterContinental Resort portfolio in the region which includes Resorts in Bali, Bora Bora and Danang Sun Peninsula. IHG Hotels & Resorts currently has 60 hotels operating under six brands in Australasia, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, voco, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, with another 35 in the pipeline.

Rosewood Partners With Qatari Diar to Develop The Chancery Rosewood in London’s Mayfair District

Rosewood Partners With Qatari Diar to Develop The Chancery Rosewood in London’s Mayfair District

Rosewood Hotels and Resorts®, in partnership with renowned real estate developer Qatari Diar, is pleased to announce the latest plans for the brand’s second London property, set to open in 2024 in the city’s distinguished Mayfair district. Officially named The Chancery Rosewood, the new hotel will realize Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ signature A Sense of Place® philosophy, which takes the local sensibilities of a destination to inform the property experience provided there, in myriad ways, including expert-led design and décor. Balancing the rich history of the iconic building with contemporary comforts prioritized by today’s luxury traveler, the hotel will showcase architecture restoration by British architect Sir David Chipperfield of David Chipperfield Architects and interiors by French architect Joseph Dirand. “We are proud to have The Chancery Rosewood lead the transformation of the revitalized Grosvenor Square, an incredible public interest initiative that is nearly a decade in the making,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “The gifted team of architects and designers will breathe a second life into the iconic building, which is poised to become a superlative destination in London, and we thank our partners at Qatari Diar for the chance to be a part of this remarkable project.” The Chancery Rosewood’s name graciously pays homage to the building’s storied past and lasting legacy. Originally built by architect Eero Saarinen in 1960, the mid-twentieth century Mayfair landmark previously housed the United States embassy and was the first purpose-built chancery in London. Saarinen’s grand façade commanded attention over the western border of Grosvenor Square, with the building becoming tantamount with the United Kingdom’s diplomatic relationship with the United States. The building’s original features and mid-century design details, including the iconic Grade II façade and diagrid ceiling, will be retained through a meticulous preservation process undertaken by David Chipperfield Architects, with a mission to reinforce and enhance Saarinen’s original vision of a ‘palace on the park.’ This exercise will extend into the interiors, the design of which will be led by the globally renowned Joseph Dirand, a longtime admirer of Saarinen. Dirand will honor the legacy of the celebrated Saarinen while simultaneously infusing his own signature style of art de vivre, ensuring each individual space is intimate and glamorous. Taking inspiration from the sophistication of the 1920s and the creativity and glamour of the 1960s, the design scheme will draw from a warm, rich color palette and feature refined, Art Deco-style detailing, walnut paneling and marble and brass accents, altogether channeling the ambiance of a traditional British gentlemen’s club. Slated to be both the first five-star hotel and first U.K. hotel to ever receive a BREEAM outstanding rating for sustainable development, the property truly showcases the powers of sustainability. Upon completion, The Chancery Rosewood will deliver Rosewood’s iconic residential atmosphere through 139 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and suites, as well as revitalized public spaces and dining venues designed by Tristan Auer and Bar Studio. Additional amenities and facilities consist of a Yabu Pushelberg designed Asaya integrative wellness facility, five retail outlets and a selection of meeting and events spaces including a 750-guest ballroom. The hotel will mark Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ second property in London and sixth in Europe.

SALA Hospitality Group Unveils sala bang pa-in on an Island in the Chao Phraya River

SALA Hospitality Group Unveils sala bang pa-in on an Island in the Chao Phraya River

SALA Hospitality Group, Thailand’s homegrown design-led hospitality company, has unveiled the latest addition to its curated collection of beachfront resorts and boutique hotels: sala bang pa-in, a chic and stylish new riverside retreat that allows guests to escape the city, unwind in nature and learn about Thai history. With a fleet of boats awaiting to transport guests on immersive excursions, including complimentary transfers to and from the Summer Palace, every traveller can uncover the rich heritage of a charming yet relatively undiscovered part of the Kingdom. Scheduled to open its doors on 1st May 2021, sala bang pa-in will become the group’s ninth property in Thailand and the fifth member of sala boutique, a portfolio of intimate hotels situated in picturesque locations, many of which are filled with historical significance. Nestled on an island in the Chao Phraya River between Ayutthaya and Bangkok, Thailand’s ancient and modern capitals, Bang Pa-in is an exceptional addition to this anthology. This also marks the latest collaboration between SALA Hospitality Group and Twitee Vajrabhaya Teparkum from the Department of Architecture Co., the acclaimed Bangkok-based design studio, following the successful openings of Six Senses Samui and SALA Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort. In the era of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, it is said that King Ekathosarot (reign from 1605 to 1620) was shipwrecked on an island in the Chao Phraya, Thailand’s “River of Kings”, as he sailed to the royal palace. There he met a woman living on the island and fell in love. Their alleged son, King Prasat Thong (reign from 1629 or 1630 to 1656) decided to build a palace in Bang Pa-in, as a tribute to the home of his mother[1]. Today, this “Summer Palace” remains an enchanting attraction that echoes the elegance of a bygone era, and guests at sala bang pa-in will be able to discover its secrets with complimentary daily boat services. Celebrating this destination’s vivid backstory and natural beauty, sala bang pa-in is a contemporary boutique retreat that puts guests on the doorstep of the Summer Palace. The hotel houses just 24 deluxe rooms and pool villas, all of which reflect a modern minimalist design concept and cutting-edge technology, such as high-end sound systems with smartphone connectivity, LED TVs and Espresso machines in every villa. Each spa-inspired bathroom comprises a separate bathtub and rain shower, and all 10 villas open out onto expansive riverside terraces with daybeds and private pools. The top room category, the spectacular three-bedroom river view presidential pool villa, offers 484 square metres of indoor and alfresco living space, making it ideal for families and groups of friends. Endless days can be spent exploring this intriguing area aboard the hotel’s own handcrafted 40ft wooden motorboat built by a renowned local boat builder in Ayutthaya, which offers river cruises to the Summer Palace (included in the room rate), along with daily sightseeing tours and sunset cocktail cruises. Alternatively, a luxurious 26ft speedboat is available for half- and full-day private charters and intimate group events. Bang Pa-in is an enticing option for visitors who want to embrace the great outdoors, with plenty of scenic cycling routes to and from the hotel, including a 50km loop that encompasses Ayutthaya and the Summer Palace, and secure bike parking at the hotel. Guests can also jog along a path that winds around the property and along the riverbank, relax with in-room spa and massage services, or plunge into the inviting outdoor swimming pool, which stretches 30 metres along the waterfront. Delectable dining experiences can be enjoyed at sala bang pa-in eatery and bar, its riverside restaurant. The menu of Thai and international cuisine highlights ingredients grown in the hotel’s onsite garden, accompanied by global wines, craft beers and creative cocktails. Indoor and outdoor seating is available with panoramic vistas. Within a short driving distance of Bangkok, sala bang pa-in is also an outstanding destination for out-of-town events, weddings and company away days. The 2nd floor multi-purpose meeting room, with its balcony and floor-to-ceiling glass doors, can host inspiring gatherings of up to 20 delegates, the 240sqm river-facing lawn is ideal for weddings, and the entire property can be reserved for unforgettable social or corporate occasions. sala bang pa-in will be led by Mr. Volkert Geertsen, a highly respected international hotelier and Cluster General Manager for sala boutique. The Chao Phraya is a legendary river that weaves timeless tales of Thailand’s past as it winds through the landscape. Now for the first time, curious explorers can discover the fables and folklore of Bang Pa-in, the home of the Summer Palace, while staying in a boutique hotel that delivers world-class experiences for couples, families and groups alike. Just a short distance from Bangkok, yet surrounded by unspoiled scenery, this is a captivating destination for urbanites who want to escape the city and unwind in peace and tranquility. We look forward to welcoming guests to sala bang pa-in, demonstrating our trademark sense of style and showcasing the grace and grandeur of Old Siam,” Mr. Geertsen commented. sala bang pa-in joins sala rattanakosin Bangkok, sala lanna Chiang Mai, sala ayutthaya and sala khaoyai in the sala boutique portfolio. Like all its sister hotels, it infuses the genuine warmth of Thai hospitality with a focus on authentic art, design and culinary creativity. And of course, guests can rest assured that their health and hygiene is SALA Hospitality Group’s top priority. Every property adheres to the SALA Safe programme, which ensures the safety of customers whilst preserving the core guest experience. The full list of measures can be found on the SALA Hospitality Group website. sala bang pa-in is located just 60km north of downtown Bangkok, 28km from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ayutthaya Historical Park, 41km from Don Mueang International Airport and 74km from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, making it ideal for domestic and international visitors alike.
